Hi, I'm Dean Maurer and I've been legally blind since birth. I spent my childhood growing up on the family farm near Dunkerton/Fairbank Iowa. Despite my limited eyesight, I've had a great life and have done some pretty amazing things. But, because my vision is getting progressively worse over time, I felt the need for a seeing eye dog and companion, That's when I was introduced to Max. I met Max through Dogsinc a couple of years ago and we formed an instant attachment.

Hi I'm Max. I'm a 3 year old Black Labrador born and raised in Palmetto, Florida. I was named after fallen U.S. Navy Corpsman Maxton Soviak who was killed in Kabul Afghanistan on August 26th, 2021, while at Abbey gate along with 12 other service members and over 170 Afghans who were killed by a suicide bomber. Trained as a seeing eye dog by Dogsinc I graduated at the top of my class and have been Deans faithful eyes ever since.

A Live auction event will be held Saturday, August 9th at King Bucks in Cedar Falls with the proceeds going to Dogsinc. They'll be fun activities for dog lovers and with the assistance of Dean and Dogsinc Max will put on a show demonstrating his awesome talents. In addition to live entertainment, a live auction and silent auction this promises to be a fun memorable family event for the young and old alike.
